What is Citizen Corps?

What is our mission?

The mission of Kewaunee County Citizen Corps is to strengthen our community's ability to prevent, respond to and recover from emergencies and disasters.  This will be accomplished by educating and training members of the community and by establishing a volunteer network.

Kewaunee County Emergency Management held a Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) course in May, 2006.  Participants received instruction on disaster preparedness, basic fire suppression, basic first aid, light search and rescue and other ways to help themselves and the community.  The 20 hour course culminated in an exercise to test what had been learned.  Shown in the picture is Sallie Marquardt, tending to mock patient Dennis Raisleger.
