What is Citizen Corps?
Citizen Corps brings together leaders of
organizations and associations representing the emergency responder
disciplines, community and volunteer service organizations,
government and the private sector. These organizations work together
to collaborate in support of Citizen Corps.
What is our mission?
The mission of Kewaunee County Citizen
Corps is to strengthen our community's ability to prevent, respond
to and recover from emergencies and disasters. This will be
accomplished by educating and training members of the community and by
establishing a volunteer network.

Algoma students participated in SERT (School Emergency Response
Team) training.

Kewaunee
County Emergency Management held a Community Emergency Response Team
(C.E.R.T.) course in May, 2006. Participants received
instruction on disaster preparedness, basic fire suppression, basic
first aid, light search and rescue and other ways to help themselves
and the community. The 20 hour course culminated in an exercise to
test what had been learned. Shown in the picture is Sallie
Marquardt, tending to mock patient Dennis Raisleger.
