Goals

Kewaunee County Citizen Corps will:

• Coordinate ongoing preparedness initiatives

• Supplement existing resources

• Publicize new activities and training opportunities

• Recognize the support of community leaders and private & public entities

• Seek out new partnerships with and support from area businesses and non-traditional response partners in the form of funding and in-kind donations, publicity and volunteers

To reach these goals, Kewaunee County Citizen Corps will:

• Screen, select and train local volunteers to assist first responders in ongoing duties and/or emergency response

• Support police service agencies in Kewaunee County

• Recruit, screen, select and train a sufficient team of volunteers to assist in an emergency or disaster

• Educate first responders on the use of volunteers

• Educate the citizens of Kewaunee County on preparing for all-hazards pertinent to NE Wisconsin, emphasizing personal and family safety, homeland security, emergency preparedness and disaster response.

• Educate, train, support and coordinate resources for existing crime prevention initiatives to include terrorism prevention and mitigation strategies.

• Initiate and sustain community outreach activities to increase awareness of Kewaunee County Citizen Corps and its actions.
